Junior League of Fort Worth 2019-2020 Done-in-a-Day Application

Done-in-a-Day (DIAD) serves as an opportunity for the Junior League of Fort Worth (JLFW or The League) to promote voluntarism while responding to community needs. Community agencies may apply for volunteer assistance for events and activities that will be completed on a short-term basis, or within one day, during a three-hour (3) shift(s). JLFW does not provide any supplies or funding for such projects, only volunteers. We cannot guarantee the number of volunteers that will sign up for each project; therefore, we recommend that DIAD projects submitted utilize 5-15 volunteers. Applications will be considered as they meet our requirements. Done-in-a-Day projects should be set between July 1, 2019 and May 31, 2020.

The deadline for DIAD applications is a minimum of 60 days prior to the project.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

We are unable to serve projects that require volunteers to travel outside of Tarrant County. Projects that impact areas outside of Tarrant County will be considered, but priority will be given to organizations that directly impact Tarrant County and its residents.

Please note: All supplies for the project must be supplied by your organization. Additionally, JLFW volunteers will not be able to participate in “checking out” your event attendees or the handling of any financial transactions. JLFW believes it is best practice for agency staff to handle the financial transactions of its donors. Please reach out if you have questions or need any clarification concerning this practice.

The requested project is not required to address one of the community impact areas identified by JLFW. However, additional consideration will be given to those requests that align with the areas listed.

JLFW requires that an agency staff person be onsite and available during the project. This contact should also be available via phone should the volunteers encounter any problems the day-of the project, such as inclement weather. Please provide the name and contact information for the day-of contact person, which will be provided to JLFW volunteers.

The Done-in-a-Day committee does not have a budget to assist in purchasing supplies for Done-in-a-Day opportunities. Our primary objective is to provide volunteers. There may be opportunities for small grants to assist a project request through the Community Opportunity Fund (COF) grant application. The grant request will require a separate application and approval process. It is suggested to apply for the COF grant 45 days in advance of project as applications are reviewed at the beginning of each month. Please note the Done-in-a-Day and COF committees are not dependent on each other. We encourage your agency to apply for a Done-in-a-Day partnership, and if your grant application is approved we will add it to the project description.

Junior League of Fort Worth, Inc. (the “League”) and all of its members, volunteers, officers, directors, employees, agents, and indemnities (collectively, "League Parties"), including, without limitation, any League Parties sitting on the Board of Directors of Agency (“Agency”) shall not be held liable for any acts or omissions, of whatsoever nature, of the Agency, its agents, assigns, directors, officers, affiliates, employees, or contractors (collectively, “Agency Parties”). Agency shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless the League and League Parties for, from and against any and all losses, damages, claims, or actions directly or indirectly arising out of, caused by, in connection with or resulting from (in whole or in part) (i) any acts or omissions of Agency and/or Agency Parties, (ii) the negligence or willful misconduct of Agency and/or Agency Parties, and/or (iii) any loss or damage to the League or League Parties or their property, even if such acts or omissions are caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the League.

If Agency’s application is approved by the League, Agency agrees to name The Junior League of Fort Worth, Texas, Inc., and its members, officers, directors, volunteers, employees, agents and representatives as an additional insured to its general liability and property policies and other applicable policies that provide coverage for services provided at Agency’s facility. Agency shall furnish the League acceptable certificates evidencing the above coverage 10 days prior to the volunteer shifts.

The safety of JLFW members and their personal property is an active concern. If the Agency receives funds or volunteers from the League, the Agency will be expected to conduct a brief safety training during volunteer training or immediately prior to a volunteer shift (depending on JLFW programming). The training shall include security precautions specific to your agency.

The person submitting this application expressly represents and warrants to JLFW that he or she is authorized by Agency/Organization to submit this application and agrees to the above policies on behalf of the Agency/Organization.

Please print a copy of this application for your records.

Thank you for submitting your application to the Junior League of Fort Worth!
