The Junior League of Fort Worth, Inc.
2018 – 2019 Done-in-a-Day Application

Done-in-a-Day (DIAD) serves as an opportunity for the Junior League of Fort Worth (JLFW or The League) to promote voluntarism while responding to community needs. Community agencies may apply for volunteer assistance for events and activities that will be completed on a short-term basis, or within one day. JLFW does not provide any supplies or funding for such projects, only volunteers. We cannot guarantee the number of volunteers that will sign up for each project; therefore, we recommend that DIAD projects submitted utilize 5-15 volunteers, and must be within one day during a three-hour (3) shift(s). Applications will be considered as they meet our requirements. Done-in-a-Day projects should be set between July 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019.

The deadline for DIAD applications is a minimum of 60 days prior to the project.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

We are unable to serve projects that require volunteers to travel outside of Tarrant County. Projects that impact areas outside of Tarrant County will be considered, but priority will be given to organizations that directly impact Tarrant County and its residents.

Please note: All supplies for the project must be supplied by your organization. Additionally, JLFW volunteers will not be able to participate in “checking out” your event attendees or the handling of any financial transactions. JLFW believes it is best practice for agency staff to handle the financial transactions of its donors. Please reach out if you have questions or need any clarification concerning this practice.

JLFW requires that an agency staff person be onsite and available during the project. This contact should also be available via phone should the volunteers encounter any problems the day-of the project, such as inclement weather. Please provide the name and contact information for the day-of contact person, which will be provided to JLFW volunteers.

FUNDING
The Done-in-a-Day committee does not have a budget to assist in purchasing supplies for Done-in-a-Day opportunities. Our primary objective is to provide volunteers. There may be opportunities for small grants to assist a project request through the Community Opportunities Fund (COF) grant application. The grant request will require a separate application and approval process. It is suggested to apply for the COF grant 45 days in advance of project as applications are reviewed at the beginning of each month. Please note the Done-in-a-Day and COF committees are not dependent on each other. We encourage your agency to apply for a Done-in-a-Day partnership, and if your grant application is approved we will add it to the project description.
